Project Home Library

Like most of us bookworms of the world, I have a TBR list that goes on for miles and I’ll probably be crushed by my stack of unread books one day.  Everyday it seems like my TBR list grows and I’m constantly taking out books from the library or buying new ones on Amazon or at the bookstore or library sales.

As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post, I keep a spreadsheet of my book inventory at home and I even mark if I’ve read them or not.  I have since added a sheet where I write down new books that I bought and add them to the inventory in a group so I don’t forget to add new purchases or take out books that I’ve weeded from my personal collection.  Now I recently took all the books that were unmarked (or unread) and put them into a separate sheet.

It turns out that I have ninety-three unread books in my personal library.  Ninety-three.

So I’ve decided that I’m going to start working on that pile instead of taking more books out from the library.  I’m going to even try to be good and not buy anymore books until I’ve read a few off my list.  The only real problem I’m going to have is keeping myself from re-reading some of the books I haven’t read in a while.  I’ve reread so many books this year that I’ve dubbed 2019 “the Year of the Reread.”

How many books do you own that you haven’t read yet?
